...how to go from simply practicing law to building a successful law firm that will provide for my family. When I first joined the Rosen Institute, my firm was not where it needed to be in terms of revenue. After listening to Lee's podcasts and having Lee and others in the Institute analyze how I had my firm structured, my revenues grew significantly and I started building the law firm that I had imagined when I first started.
He has created a very successful practice that he runs remotely while traveling the globe with his wife. Lee and his right hand man Ned operate Rosen Institute through which they provide a wealth of information and teach lawyers how to build a thriving practice. Lee is incredibly smart, innovative, personable, tech-savvy, and generous. I take pride in knowing him and I recommend his services to anyone who wants to elevate their practice without limitation.
for help and support for my ambitious of scale my small law practice and I have found great educational material which helped me to develop my solo practice into a firm of five people.
What really changed and worked for me (key factors) were: 1) putting process in place (we are currently doing our ISO 9001/2015 for quality management system), 2) developing a vision which I share with my team and 3) counting on great support from the community.
...guidance and tools which inspire me to make better decisions about growing my practice and achieving my goals.
Working with Lee, Ned and the members has helped me clarify what I want and pushed me to take action. I'm having fun and learning a ton while doing it. I've picked up ideas that have saved me months of agony that would have been required to research them myself.
It is super-motivating to be a part of the Institute.
In addition to occasional, spontaneous conference calls, you're also invited to the Rosen Institute monthly Office Hours call. It's a live, free flowing exploration of the issues on member's minds. Anything goes and we usually spend an hour brainstorming solutions to practice growth issues.
You'll have full access to the Rosen Institute members-only Slack channels. Whether you're looking to connect with lawyers in the same practice area or location, or want to share ideas and feedback on specific software, practice management systems, or strategies, we have a dedicated group to meet your needs.
As you create your vision you'll also have access to more practice building educational material than you can manage. Instead of consuming it all, you'll focus on what you actually need to grow your business.
Take a look.
Ask until you can't type anymore. Your questions help encourage new thinking and benefit the entire community. You'll find a knowledgeable group eager to help you out, and learning partners with similar questions. We'll help you learn what you don't know and fast-track you toward laying the groundwork of a profitable practice.
Becoming an active member of the community and expressing your commitment to success will not go unnoticed. We encourage everyone to grow their relationships outside of Rosen Institute as well. If you haven't already, join us for our next annual "Raining Referrals" program. Like everything else, it's included with your membership.
I'm here inside Rosen Institute on a daily basis. I'm around answering questions, asking deeper questions, pushing folks forward, and using my experience for your benefit. There's nothing automated, disconnected, or pre-recorded about my engagement.
I have never learned so much in so short of a time. He is the guy that makes you think, question, test and think again. If you are looking to learn from a high level critical thinker then this is a game changer. You must take a chance and see what Lee can do. What I've learned has changed my entire perspective and, more importantly, prodded me to act.
Having regular courses and lessons and being held accountable to step back and really think about what I want to build gave me direction. Rather than just thinking that I want to grow, I can see exactly in which direction and how. You get so much from Lee and the the Rosen Institute team for the small monetary investment. Do it.
I have taken many of Lee's Masterclasses and diligently follow many Rosen Rules (Networking 101 is my fave). The Rosen Institute has been immeasurably beneficial to my firm's growth and to my personal development as a leader. Lee is blunt, direct and practical, but he embraces big, bold, untested ideas. The Rosen Institute is liquid gold if you are willing to dig deep in the resources and engage with the inspiring, resourceful community of attorneys. We recently completed a month-long Vision Quest program requiring daily work and hours of contemplation - a game changer. I can't wait for the next quest.
but if you've landed on the Rosen Institute website you've figured out how I 'know' what I know about law office technology. I'm not one to jump into a financial commitment to a law-related vendor quickly, but I signed up the second I learned about this one over two years ago. It's been a great investment of time and money for me, and I've made some great new colleague-friends across the country and around the world. As long as you don't practice matrimonial law in Monmouth county NJ you should seriously consider signing up.
Facebook groups are great for gab-fests and commiserating about being a lawyer, but not so great for guidance, direction, and structured approaches to building and implementing your vision and growing your practice. With a new course, lesson, or live call every week, dedicated mini-mastermind small-groups, and constant, targeted community feedback, you're on the field making the plays, not in the bleachers missing the action.
No, you won't. There will always be another deadline, another trial, and another urgent client matter. We specialize in lawyers who "just don't have time". This is a program and a community built around giving you the tools to extract yourself from the practice in a way that means things can run smoothly without your constant supervision. It's your job to show up, but once you do, we'll help you get your business in order.
When you join, you'll get a private podcast feed that you can subscribe to in your favorite podcast app with a single click. Assignments from special programs, our members-only podcast, and live call recordings are all published in the feed as soon as they're available so can load up on lessons and listen to them in the car, on a flight, or while you're jogging. The Slack app for desktop and mobile lets check in with the community wherever you are.
You'll have company. We focus on marketing, management, finance, and technology issues for firm owners, but everything we work on can be used to improve your performance inside a firm as well. And if you have the autonomy to make management, marketing, staff, and technology decisions for your section or the practice, you'll gain the resources you need to win over the other decision makers and move the practice forward.
We're focused on giving you actionable advice in 10 minutes each day. There's way more available if you're willing to take advantage of it, but at a bare minimum, you will be moving the ball forward on building the practice you deserve every single day. If you're not happy, let us know and we'll refund your membership fee. No hoops to jump through, no "but wait, there's more" sales pitches.
We've had members in their 70s join and make huge strides, allowing them to finally take a breath and stop worrying about the viability of their businesses and retirement plans. Even if you've been at this for a while, you no doubt have issues with the cases your taking, your role in the firm, and your concerns about handing off, selling, or just enjoying your final years in practice. We'll help you reboot or refine your business.
Each month, Institute members come together to discuss the tough problems they encounter in their firms, such as:
A crash course in all things involved in running a law firm, with master classes, you'll learn how to:

for about 2 years before I decided to join the Rosen Institute. I'm so glad I did. It's helped me to refine my offering to clients, making it easier to reach potential clients and offer high-quality services. The best thing about the Institute is how active Lee and his team are. The free resources on Divorce Discourse are generous, but the Rosen Institute is a whole new level. Between the Masterclasses, live calls and the members' forum, there's always something new to learn and adopt in my practice.
the insight and advice I have access to as a Rosen Institute member is invaluable. There simply is no substitute for the day to day interaction with Lee and so many other similarly situated attorneys that I have come to rely on for idea vetting, helpful tips, suggestions, and everything else. Six stars on a five-star scale. My only hesitation in recommending it so highly is a fear that my competition will discover the Rosen Institute and start relying on it as I have.
I was talking with my grown kids and remarked that I think I've learned more in the last 5 years than at any other five year period of time. Here's how it works: when I get stuck or am unsure – I ask the Slack group for guidance – without fail I get a thoughtful response that offers guidance and accelerates my learning – thanks!!
I have added three lawyers with a fourth one on the way as well as an additional office. There is not a day that goes by without checking the site for new and valuable information.
...because I needed help in expanding my practice. Since then, Lee's advice has been instrumental in how we market our services, compensate employees, charge clients for our services, and set up systems and procedures. There literally is no area of the practice we have not improved. Since joining the Institute, I feel professionally rejuvenated. I also feel part of a community of likeminded attorneys, where I can share ideas and learn about business issues large and small. If you want to revamp your practice, I highly recommend the Rosen Institute, which would be a bargain at many times its price.
Lee presents information in a straight forward and practical way based on his experience as a law firm owner. When he gives you information, he explains the steps and the reasons why. The Master Classes, monthly calls, and information shared among the other members is invaluable. Thank you!
we've revamped our technology, added 3 associates, hired our first supervising attorney, and are opening another office. It's great to be growing.
My bottom line on if something is working is looking at our revenues, and since joining Rosen Institute, they've doubled. Higher revenues means more profit. This is working.
of practical guidance and inspiration. The caliber of the members is top notch. With all of the tools provided here, I have no excuse if I don't soon have the best and biggest immigration firm on the West Coast. I'm on my way.
I love the courses, the mastermind group, the interaction among members and the collaborative and supportive spirit. I wish someone could bottle this up and sell it. Well, I guess that's exactly what Lee Rosen has done.
Even though Lee's blogs and podcasts for non-members provide a lot of helpful information, becoming a member and being on the “inside” has made us think differently about the law firm and how we operate and market.
Instead of counting the number of warm bodies in the firm as a measure of success, we are focused on harnessing technology and systems to power our marketing and increase revenue and profits more efficiently.
The live calls are extremely helpful. You can ask Lee anything without judgement. He answers them all, including very technical, complicated questions with links to resources that are often free.
There is so much out there to learn about – social media, intake, systems, technology, local search, and RI takes the best of the best material and puts it right at our fingertips, so you don't waste your time on all the fluff.
There's lots of daily action on the Slack group and the discussions with other like-minded attorneys will bring up your game, as there are a variety of lawyers at different levels, from novices to those lawyers we're all jealous of who are crushing it.
It is a very sharing community and they share pretty much everything, no holding back. It has changed our practice by helping us focus on what's important, and it has directly resulted in more money in the bank for us and more time to spend with our family. That's a win-win.
The depth of knowledge of Lee Rosen and the participants is astounding. Lee is deeply committed to everyone's success demonstrated by his candor, honesty and humor. Best money I spend every month.
The Institute is a great place to learn about technology, marketing, finances and other aspects of running a law practice. I'm learning about the various tools to help grow my practice. The guidance is invaluable for anyone who is serious about building a law practice they love.
Lee's methods will catapult you out of mediocrity and transform you into a tech-savvy, systems-driven, marketing moxied, networking machine. Engaging dialogue with other like-minded, forward-thinking law business owners in all stages of their journey is icing on the cake. You won't find anything like the Rosen Institute - anywhere.
For a fraction of your hourly rate you gain access to a wealth of not-taught anywhere else information on how to build, run, and market a law firm as well as access to a network of other lawyers who help you make better strategic decisions that benefit your practice and life. Well worth the investment of your money and time.
Like many attorneys, I eventually realized that I needed help with the business side of the practice. The Rosen Institute has been a valuable resource - it's like a mini-MBA program laser focused on the business of law. Rosen Institute distills and organizes the information that you need to improve your whole operation, from leadership to finance and pretty much everything in between. Although Lee made his reputation as a family lawyer, his techniques have translated to my practice areas.
A word of warning, though: this is not a program for someone who wants a lot of hand-holding. It's not coaching in the traditional one-on-one sense. Rather, it's geared to self-starters with an entrepreneurial mindset. Feedback is available from interaction with other attorneys (from newbies to the highly experienced, and I learn equally from all), and from Lee Rosen personally. If you take the information and apply it, you will see results.
It is one of the few forums that entrepreneurially minded attorneys have to collaborate with other attorneys from across the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and beyond! Lee Rosen's insights are an inspiration and are battle tested with over 20 years in the trenches of running a successful and thriving family law firm. I have used many of the innovative ideas to improve my practice, and look forward to the new content provided each month, including monthly office hours, classes and content. Rosen institute is an immense value to members today and in the future.
The truth is that I was not taking advantage of the Slack channels and hadn't fully explored the resources. I started listening to the courses. Things started clicking. Then I connected on the Slack channels. Holy Cow! I was missing the boat!
Now, Slack is open all the time. I'm streamlining and getting more profitable. I think the best thing about the Institute is the sense of community. One of the things I missed after leaving my firm, was the ability to get creative with other lawyers at the end of the day. Now, that interaction occurs 24/7. I am now laser focused.
Every month I have had the opportunity to learn from lawyers across the country about issues that affect my law practice every day. Lee Rosen and the Institute have helped to accelerate the growth of my law firm.
The recordings of educational material on marketing, technology and management are richly and densely packed with relevant information. It also offers a place where you can brainstorm, complain about life, and share what's working. Of course, if everything is perfect, this isn't the place for you. But, if you struggle to manage the employees, clients, systems, and the rest of your life, join!
I joined Rosen Institute two years ago to help take my new solo practice into the world of technology and automation. I quickly got that, and then I learned that I didn't even know what I didn't know.
Lee is all about working smarter, not harder. It was a paradigm shift. I hated hourly billing and collection challenges – problem solved: Fixed Fees and better targeted clients. I didn't enjoy certain aspects of law practice (QDROs and brief writing) – problem solved: Outsourcing. Even if I don't include the new client referrals from other Institute members; to date, this has been my best investment of both time and money for the future of my law practice.
I have been a member for three years and find that the Institute returns value month after month. The Institute provides an opportunity to share information and ideas with other like minded professionals unlike any other forum of which I have been a part. Lee Rosen knows his stuff and he is willing to share.
They say we're the average of the five people with whom we spend the most time. I dramatically upped my average by joining. That's when the breakthroughs happened and my practice grew fast. It hasn't stopped happening yet.
I've connected with other practitioners. I've peaked behind the curtain to learn what technology, systems, and marketing works for others. My participation keeps me focused on my vision and achieving my goals.
The repository of information for members on its website, frequent updates by Lee and his staff, and the large Slack community of fellow lawyer-entrepreneurs (including Lee himself) all make it a "must-have" for lawyers serious about improving their law practices. We have reaped exponentially more benefit from the program than the cost. I can't recommend it enough (and often do when I lecture on practice management and the practice of law).
...for your clients, for your staff and for your community - talk to Lee Rosen. Lee is not just another business coach – he spent 30 years perfecting the practice of law and, whatever your sticking points, he will take you to the next level.
...only to talk myself out of it because I was 'too busy', I finally joined Rosen Institute. After joining, I couldn't believe the amount of information available, or the accountability the program offered. It helped me pull together the jumbled mix of ideas, both good and bad, and finally build a clear picture of what I want my firm to look like in the future. I feel so much more confident of where we are headed, and that allows me to wake up each morning excited to move us in the right direction.
...is figuring out the right investments to make and the best time to make them. Let me make this one easy for you. The guidance and higher-level thinking provided by the Rosen Institute cannot come too soon. Vision Quest has helped me see my path forward and membership has helped me walk it.
...and challenged me to critically assess my practice, my firm and my future in a way I had not expected, but thoroughly enjoyed. I give the program and team at Rosen Institute my highest of recommendations.
I've connected with other practitioners. I've peaked behind the curtain to learn what technology, systems, and marketing works for others. My participation keeps me focused on my vision and achieving my goals.
Rosen Institute is the Ultimate User's Guide to building a law practice. You could spend years toiling away, picking up bits and pieces of pithy advice here and there about client development, business strategies, marketing, technology, fees, collections, management, etc., etc. – that's what I did for way too long. Rosen not only brings it all together, but he shows you how to do it. Even better, the membership will share their road-tested strategies. I'm finally forging the path that I've always wanted – I just wish I would have gotten the tools from Rosen much, much sooner.
For more than 30 years I have litigated in a niche federal practice area – the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA.) Each week, I pick-up a new tip that helps me run my office more efficiently and serve my clients better. The valuable advice can be as simple as, "We tried that software. It doesn't work so save your money," to Lee's mantra "telling their story" in a sophisticated way whenever you interact with new clients and existing clients. Bottom-line, whether you are fresh out of law school, or a long-time lawyer, the Rosen Institute is well worth the modest monthly fee.
...to one active in my community and confident in generating business relationships and opportunities. The Rosen Institute has been a great value for me and my practice.
I'd been following Lee's advice since 2012 when I hung out my shingle. I was terrified, and desperate for guidance and advice on every aspect of my practice; Lee's voice and sound advice strongly resonated with me.
I joined the Rosen Institute and took Lee's workshop in New York City. I gained access to group of attorneys actively growing and improving their practices.
I joined an Institute mastermind group and learned from others' questions and input. I heard from Lee personally on vexing issues and always felt that I can reach out to Lee when needed.
My membership brings many gifts - referrals from other lawyers, vendor information, online review advice, online marketing input, and management advice, plus I've connected with great lawyers across the NYC Tri-State area.
I have a business degree and a law degree. I opened my firm in 2006 with two friends. We literally stumbled along for years. No vision, no plan, no clue. We made some money, but I knew it wasn't sustainable. After years, my business degree “kicked in” and I understood there had to be another way…a way other than stumbling…a way other than hoping for the phone to ring…a way other than sleepless nights. I came across the Rosen Institute and, thinking I had nothing to lose, I joined.
I couldn't have made a better decision. Thanks to Lee, Ned, and the members of the Institute, I now have a vision, the outline of a plan, and more than a clue about what needs to be done for me to sleep soundly each and every night. For the first time since opening my law firm, I am looking forward to what the new year brings.
I joined the Institute for ideas on practice management, but found great marketing, technology, management, outsourcing, and other resources too.
The community is one of the best parts. It's like a bar association listserv, but with lawyers on the same path and who "get it."
Plus, there's accountability. Lee, his team, and other members, provide feedback and encouragement (and sometimes a nice kick in the pants). They call things what they are and provide different perspectives, without judgment. My practice is better off. I highly recommend the Rosen Institute to anyone ready to be better at the business of practicing law.
...and more successful and happier people by being exposed to new and challenging ideas and by joining a tribe of thoughtful hardworking people who are committed to growing personally and professionally. Lee Rosen and his Rosen Institute provide a unique opportunity to live in that world. As a member of the Rosen Institute, you will receive a constant flow of cutting edge marketing, technology, and operational business ideas and you will share in the journey of growing your vision and your law firm and your life with worthy and determined colleagues who often become good friends.
...I needed to hone in on what I really wanted my law firm to become, as well as to identify and clarify the necessary steps to be taken to achieve these goals. Not only have Lee and Ned helped my firm immeasurably, but the community that they have created within the Rosen Institute has allowed me to create new partnerships that have really benefited me on both a professional and personal level.
...when I need ideas or help with my practice. I credit Lee Rosen whenever asked how I was able to grow my practice to 12 associates practicing family law. His ideas help me sort through the decisions we make every day as law firm owners from marketing, to management, to technology, to office systems. I have referred dozens of lawyers to the Rosen Institute who want to grow their practice because there is no better source of information, inspiration and practical advice than this forum.
...of the Rosen Institute for over 2 years, and it has been a great experience.
Of course, there is the "stuff" – such as the master classes, the Rosen Rules, the Networking 101, and on an on. This is wonderful, easily accessible and digestable, and thought provoking. This alone is worth the price of admission.
Equally, if not more important, is the Slack community at the Rosen Institute. I am the only lawyer in a small firm. I generally make all the decisions impacting the firm. It's nice to have a community of like-minded and similary-situated attorneys to bounce ideas off of.
I recommend membership to anyone who is interested in moving their practice forward, regardless of level of experience. The time I have spent listening and learning on the Institute is always time well spent.
Every day that you are not a member of the Rosen Institute, you are losing money. I have worked with Lee Rosen since 2013 and have been a member of the Institute since its inception. I have successful law firm that pays me a good living and do only the legal work I want to do. I set my own schedule and am home with my four kids as much (or as little!) as I like. Lee Rosen and the Institute played no small part in my growth. I have worked with numerous other coaching programs, and while they have their strengths, I know of no other forum where you can get the same cutting-edge knowledge about the latest and greatest in law firm management. I cannot recommend the Institute highly enough.
...I am now able to escape much of the day to day practice and focus on the vision. I'm working *on* instead of *in* the business.
The two main things I get from the Institute are motivation and inspiration. Some days when i feeling stuck, tired or ready to quit practicing, I scroll through Slack and see other lawyers are struggling with the same issues. But, I also see so many great ideas and cool apps and can always find something to improve my practice.
What sets the Rosen Insitute apart is the focus on the psychology of clients, lawyers, associates and employees and how members can use this to build their practices. I get bombarded by marketing companies with fancy widgets to sell, but none of them address this deeper level of knowledge. And they cost far more than Rosen Institute..
...the conference I've attend, and the groups I've joined, Lee's forum has helped grow my business the most. Lee's business advice, coupled with the community of attorneys all working to help each other succeed, has propelled our firm to higher and higher profits. Lee's forum is the best money we spend every month.
yes, I found Rosen Institute. Now I know ‘what' to do. More importantly, I'm getting the ‘how' to do it.
Plus I'm talking to real people, learning from their successes and setbacks and staying miles ahead of the technology and marketing game. I count on Institute members and programs to keep me moving in the right direction.
Rosen Institute gives me a large network of attorneys who've already been through the things I'm going through.
Members are highly engaged and supportive, and openly discuss every aspect of the practice of law. Rosen Institute members helped me more than double my revenues in only 18 months. I'm very fortunate to have found the Rosen Institute early in my career and to have skipped many of the usual law practice missteps.
Rosen Institute works for me. We had our best year ever at the firm. We're working hard and I've learned enough to be able to take time away knowing my office will be functioning when I return. Our business is growing, we're maintaining a positive culture, staying focused on serving our clients, and keeping our team happy.
Lee has written and recorded a ton of informative and inspirational content for Institute members. Hearing his insights from 20+ years of running a successful firm gives me the determination and motivation to keep improving my practice. I know that I'm heading in the right direction because of the support I have as part of Rosen Institute.
What follows, though, is not. The Rosen Institute is a superb and comprehensive resource for successful management of small and solo law firms. The depth and breadth of the content and member contributions is impressive.
In addition to accessing the insights of Lee Rosen, the force behind the institute, from his decades of managing an innovative small law firm and the technical knowledge of Ned Daze, the institute's law-firm related technology guru, members themselves actively share updates, experiences, trials and tribulations from their own experiences—though virtual, it is a true community of similarly-situated colleagues. Highly recommended.
