The list is long, and it’s tough to know where to start.
Not knowing…that’s where we spend much of our time.
Days pass…weeks pass…months pass and, suddenly, it’s a year later. And we still don’t know where to start.
Then the regret. I’m filled with regret for the time wasted. The days go by with no action as we lament the days that have gone by with no action.
Where should we start? I’m asked this question with incredible frequency. It comes up all the time. Maybe asking the question feels like action?
Deciding where to start isn’t action. Deciding where to start is meaningless. Deciding where to start won’t take you down the road. It won’t get you anywhere at all. I know that’s not how it feels. It feels like deciding is the first step…but it’s not.
Starting is the first step.
Action is action.
Movement is movement.
Pick anything. Do something. Don’t decide. Just act.
Doing the wrong thing is ALWAYS better than doing nothing.
Throw a dart at the list if that helps. Just do something. That’s what will get it done.
Doing something will make something happen. Then you’ll do the next thing and the next and the next. It all starts with doing something…anything.
