“I’m excited and nervous at the same time.”
That’s a phrase I hear quite a bit. It’s a good thing.
It means you’re stretching out of your comfort zone. It means you’re doing something that’s giving you energy. It means you’re headed in the right direction.
I hear it mostly from lawyers finalizing their plans for growing, expanding, and taking on something new. They might be adopting a new marketing approach. They might be entering a new practice area. They might be hiring some new members for their team.
When we’re feeling that balance of excitement and nerves, we know we’re making things happen.
“Excited and nervous” is always a good thing to hear. Without some excitement, we act without energy. Without some nervousness, we’re failing to grow.
Does your plan give you that sensation? Can you feel the butterflies? Can you tell that you’re headed in the right direction?
