“LawyerBob@aol.com” is not a good e-mail address. It makes you look like an amateur. It’s terrible.
You really need an e-mail address at your own domain name. My e-mail address is lee@roseninstitute.com. The “rosen.com” part is the key. You need your own domain name.
Setting up an e-mail address on your own domain is not rocket science. It’s not really a challenge to anyone who spent three years in law school and then passed a bar exam.
It is, however, something that lots of small firm lawyers fail to address.
It’s time to put on your big boy/girl pants and deal with this. You can’t afford to have people judge you based on your e-mail address. You don’t need them thinking you’re a bungling, fly-by-night, lightweight lawyer. Your e-mail address at aol.com, yahoo.com, or gmail.com just makes you look pathetic.
Register your domain name, and get on with it.
If you’re struggling with how to get this done, contact DNAmail.com. It is one of many firms in the business of taking care of the details of e-mail for you. DNAmail.com can get it done for a minimal fee. It’s well past time for you to get this detail straightened out. It’s too important to wait another day.
