Business is booming, but you’ve got a secret. That secret may be so buried that you don’t even know it yourself. You owe a debt and the note holder is going to come calling soon. This could get ugly if you aren’t prepared to pay.
Being good at sales brings us fast growth. But, it almost always also brings us debt — lots of debt. Financial debt is relatively straight forward to understand and address, but the debts we accrue by neglecting management, marketing, and technology can be downright catastrophic because they’re so hard to foresee and understand. We don’t see them on our balance sheet. We don’t even know how much we owe.
