VisionQuest is on. Today’s lesson is up in your private podcast feed. If you haven’t subscribed to that yet or need help getting it sorted out, let @ned know and he’ll help get you squared away.
The goal for this program is to guide you through the process of creating the vision of the practice you want to build. This isn’t easy, as you already know. Some of you have a rough idea and need some clarity – others have no idea where to start. That’s totally fine. My plan is to use some lessons, exercises, and assignments to tease out the details about what’s important to you, what your goals are, and why you’re doing what you’re doing – even if you have a hard time articulating it.
The plan is to spend a few minutes each day working through this process. I’ll post a message each weekday morning that you can listen to at home, on your compute, on your run – wherever. We’ll work through and discuss the assignments here in this Slack channel. We have members across a bunch of different time zones, but the asynchronous nature of the podcast and Slack community help make it convenient to jump in and interact when it’s convenient for you.
That leads me to today’s Assignment – Introduce yourself right here in this channel with the following –
What you do? Where you do it? How long you’ve been doing it? Family situation? What you like to do when not working? What you can’t stop talking about? What’s your favorite color? Your favorite video show? And/or anything else you’d like to tell us. Go!
Your introduction of yourself in this channel is only visible to others participating in VisionQuest. We’ve got a bunch of members who will only know you’ve joined us if you also introduce yourself in #introductions – I’d encourage you do that so that folks know you’re with us.
Be aware – the messages in Slack will go a little berserk. There are a bunch of us in here. The introductions, plus comments, plus questions will pour in. It’s easy for keeping up on Slack to become a full-time job. Responding in “threads” will help. Realistically though, it’s going to be chaos. I’m sorry.
But, here’s the deal. Sometimes chaos is healthy. Amazing insights come from chaos. I don’t want to impose so much order (and we do love ourselves some order) that we stifle creativity. I’m going to let some chaos happen. Jump into it when you have time. See what thoughts the others in this group stimulate for you.
Thanks for joining us here in VisionQuest 2022. I look forward to watching you make strides toward creating a law firm that meets your needs and gives you the joy, fulfillment, and satisfaction you desire.
Now, get busy here with your introduction. The more we know about you the more we can contribute to your progress.
