Where do I buy cheap law books?
We talked about bar association “discounts” last week. That got me wondering about other stuff on Amazon. I’m a big Amazon fan, and we spend thousands of dollars a month buying office supplies, equipment, etc. from this site. It’s good.
I wondered whether we could get law books for less. We buy copies of North Carolina Family and Related Laws with some frequency. I’m the “compiler” of the book for LexisNexis, and we use it within the firm and often buy copies for others.
Turns out that we can get it for 18% less through Amazon than we can at the LexisNexis site. That’s a pretty hefty discount. Also—and this is cool—Amazon offers a Kindle edition of the book at an even steeper discount.
On top of getting a discount, we get fast shipping from Amazon and, because we pay for a membership in its “Prime” program, the shipping is free.
I wouldn’t have thought of buying legal research material from Amazon before today. I sure will now.
