Welcome back.

Keeping on top of what’s happening with technology can be fun, but it can also be overwhelming, exhausting, and draining.

Today’s assignment is up in your feed and it isn’t about anything particularly exciting – just email. But there have been some advancements in verifying email authenticity in the last few years that are making spam-fighting tools more effective, at the cost of flagging your legitimate emails if you haven’t made sure to keep on top of all the new verification procedures.

This happened to us, and we’ve noticed it happening increasingly often to other lawyers in the last 12 months – emails sent to clients and colleagues going into the “bulk” or “spam” folders on the recipient’s end and getting missed.

There are a lot of acronyms and technical discussions in today’s lesson. Don’t expect to fix this yourself or understand the ins and outs of it all – have somebody handle that for you. I’ll have some ideas for that tomorrow.
